Oscar’s Pathway is a specialist sensory-based day provision supporting adults with complex autism, learning disabilities, and communication needs through structured sensory environments that promote regulation, engagement, and meaningful participation.
The service is led by a qualified SEND teacher and certified sensory inclusion facilitator, ensuring practice is grounded in specialist understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and sensory processing needs.
he also brings valuable personal experience, as her brother has similar needs to the young people and adults we support.
Each individual is supported through a personalised sensory profile and regulation pathway designed to enhance wellbeing, communication, independence, and quality of life.
Adults
We offer full-time and part-time placements for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex communication and sensory needs during weekdays and weekends.
Respite
We offer respite provision for individuals aged 8+ on Saturdays and during school holidays from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

Our building
We are based in our own building at Rossett School, we are not part of the school. However, we are working together to support people with SEND in the local community.
Rooms
Immersive Sensory Room
Our immersive sensory room is at the heart of Oscar's Pathway, offering a safe, calming environment where individuals can regulate, explore, and engage through personalised sensory experiences. Designed to meet a wide range of sensory needs, it supports emotional wellbeing, reduces anxiety, and encourages communication, learning, and meaningful participation.
Kitchen and cafe area
Our fully equipped café and kitchen provide a welcoming space where individuals can develop practical life skills, enjoy shared meals, and gain valuable work experience. Service users are supported to prepare food, learn kitchen safety, make healthy choices, and build confidence in cooking and hospitality.
The space also features an internal training café, offering opportunities to develop employability skills such as food preparation, customer service, teamwork, money handling, and communication in a supportive, real-life environment. Whether preparing lunch, baking treats, or serving refreshments, individuals can build independence, confidence, and transferable skills at their own pace
Large activity room
Our spacious activity room is a flexible, welcoming environment designed to support a wide range of individual and group activities. The space is used for arts and crafts, games, life skills sessions, group learning, wellbeing activities, and social interaction, allowing individuals to engage in meaningful experiences tailored to their interests and goals.
Comfortable sofas provide a relaxing area where service users can unwind, socialise with friends, or take time to regulate in a calm and supportive setting. Whether participating in structured activities or simply enjoying quiet time, the room encourages connection, choice, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Life skills/gym room
Our Life Skills and gym room is designed to help individuals develop confidence, independence, and essential everyday skills in a safe and supportive environment. The space can be transformed into realistic community settings such as a dentist, doctor's surgery, supermarket, café, or other everyday environments, allowing service users to practise real-life situations, reduce anxiety, and build familiarity before accessing these places in the community.
Using role play, visual supports, and sensory-informed approaches, individuals can develop communication, social interaction, and practical life skills at their own pace, making community experiences more accessible and less overwhelming.
The suite also includes a gym and movement area, where service users can take part in tailored physical activities to support fitness, coordination, emotional regulation, and sensory needs. Movement and exercise are incorporated as part of each individual's wellbeing programme, helping to improve physical health, reduce stress, and promote self-regulation in a positive and enjoyable way.
Field/outside space
Our large outdoor field provides a safe and inclusive space for sensory-based outdoor learning, physical activity, and emotional wellbeing. Surrounded by open space, it offers opportunities for individuals to explore, move, and regulate in a natural environment while engaging in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and sensory needs.
The field is used for PE sessions, parachute games, team-building activities, outdoor learning, nature-based experiences, and sensory exploration, encouraging communication, cooperation, confidence, and physical development. It also provides a calming environment where individuals can enjoy fresh air, movement, and quiet time to support emotional regulation and overall wellbeing.
By combining outdoor learning with sensory-informed practice, the field plays an important role in helping service users build resilience, develop new skills, and enjoy the many benefits of being active in nature.
